Back in Dallas

We just returned from a two and half week survey trip to Brazil. During this time we visited churches in Curitiba, Rio de Janeiro, and Salvador. It was a blessing to spend time with each of these churches and learn more about the work these churches are doing in their respective cities.

As you can imagine the most exciting part of the trip was the five days we spend in Niteroi. While I had personally been to Niteroi several times there was a new mixture of emotions as the whole team drove across the bridge and entered the city for the first time together. Our time there was spend sight seeing, surveying the city, looking at housing options, schools, stores, and praying.

All of us really enjoyed our time in Niteroi and are excited to continue preparing for the upcoming move to Niteroi.

Survey Trip

This Friday, March 7th, I, along with the rest of the mission team, will be going on a two and a half week survey trip to Brazil.  During the survey trip the mission team will be visiting Niteroi (where we will be moving to this fall) as well as three other cities - Salvador, Rio de Janeiro, and Curitiba.  In these other cities the objective will be to visit four churches (we will visit two different churches in Rio) at different stages in their development.  This will be done in order for us to get a sense of what the church in Niteroi might look like at the three year mark, six to nine year mark, and finally what it could look like after twenty years.

We are all looking forward to the time we will be able to spend in Niteroi.  While we are there we will tour the city, begin looking at housing options, and research potential locations where we might plant a church.

I would ask for your prayers for myself and the entire team as we go on our survey trip.  Please pray for our safety, for our visit with the four existing churches, and for our time in Niteroi.
